Help! Holidays gatherings stress me out!

Image
More than half of us say our beloved family get-togethers are a significant source of stress. Just in time for tomorrows festivities.  Heres few ways to calm down and ease your stress so you can have a Happy Thanksgiving. Tame tension Most of us hate confrontation and would rather run and hide than to face stressful invitations.  Be kind and go easy on yourself and others when there are gatherings. Dodge disagreements Curbing potential topics that may cause others to become a little heated may not be the best time to push others buttons during the holidays.  It's a win-win for everyone and far better to be humble rather than combative. Spread positivity Being positive, bringing up lighthearted happy topics that everyone can relate to and expanding on everyone to have their turn to say something in on the topic is always a good way to lighten the situation in any circumstance. Be thankful to have those around you this year and I wish you a wonderful time this Thanksgi

10 Reason Why It's Not Your Fault You Have No Control Over Your Weight

I'm going way past the average BMI or thermodynamic equation here-and while still losing or gaining weight, to a large extent, is about good diet, exercise and lifestyle factors; theres so many other factors in a human to consider....So....lets take a look at 10 of them. 1.  Genes As well know what we are given at birth by our biological parents is hereditary.  Some people need to work harder than others to maintain the same body weight.  Certain genes increase the risk for insulin resistance and some genes are not prone to being "hardwired." 2.  Environmental Pollution Exposure to pollution can cause the lungs to work harder and cause more inflammation in the body which can inhibit and disrupt certain endocrine pathways and damage fat-burning mitochondria. 3.  Inflammation Why would inflammation be associated with weight gain?  Obese individuals are more prone to having heart and brain disorders, as well as more inflammatory episodes throughout the body.  Bein

A Few Ideas To Feel Calmer

Image
A lot of people can feel the tension and stressed during the holiday season so I wanted to share a few natural remedies I use that helps me cope and relax anytime. 1.  Quiet Your Mind Yoga and meditation for me in nature always does the trick.  Especially if it's in the sun for 10-15 minutes.  When you can feel a stressor start to build i your mind, quiet your thoughts by going for a stroll or keeping your body moving while in nature.  Heightening your senses while being outdoors is such a soothing way to stop my "monkey mind." 2.  Massage Your Self LOL...No I don't mean masturbating HAHA I'm just referring to a good old mind and body check in with yourself.  Where in your body has chronic pain and hurts and you've just let it slide?  Your back?  Your hands?  Maybe taking a hot bath while massaging your temples and ears or even sit in a jacuzzi or sauna and allow your entire body to just speak up to allow yourself to actively say which areas need to

How To Make a Difference This Holiday Season

Image
With the holiday season quickly approaching, it's time to take what we have and give it to those that are less fortunate.  Your service in the community make a HUGE difference so I thought that I'd take the time to write out a few of my favorite ideas that help me get into the spirit around the holiday season. 1..Getting rid and donating unused items. When I am going throughout the season LOL and sizes in my wardrobe I like to get rid of what I no longer wear and give back.  Wether giving to a friend, or creating a community Garage Sale or just dropping off at Savers, it's always a generous and generous habit to create every season to get rid of and donate. 2.  Being a Strong Community Partner Finding organizations to volunteer for is a great way to meet new people and spend your time valuing a charity that makes you feel good from within.  Whatever their message is to help humanity make sure that it follows your core values and beliefs as well.  What are you provid

5 Ways to Boost Your Esteem

Image
With all of life's pressures, it's easy to fall into the "I'm not good enough" trap. BUT...Here I am to the RESCUE!!!  Here are some of my favorite ways to add more pep to my step and boost my confidence and esteem. 1.  Shift Thinking When we speak, the words we use allows us to express how we feel on the inside.  A shift in thinking to a more positive and easy going approach can help self doubt to wash away and allow emotions and feelings to flow more freely in and out instead of our heads instead of harboring and challenging ourselves into disbelief. 2.  Focus on Abundance Low self-confidence often goes hand in hand with mentality of scarcity.  In other words, when we thing we don't have enough of one particular "thing" than that feeling actually can begin to build into toxic thoughts and beliefs about ourselves.  Instead, focus of abundance and what you do have so is allow gratefulness in positive waves to come in and insecurities to fade
