My Opinions on Self Acceptance
When others don't like us (which not everyone will) we feel less than unworthy because our self perception is tied to what other people think. Validation and acceptance from others will never yield a positive mind for self acceptance. No amount of positive reinforcement will ever make you feel better.
To me, self acceptance is a complete and total embarkment of ourselves in an unconditional manner. To recognize our weaknesses, limitations, short comings yet be fully aware and that we can still accept ourselves faults included. Unconditional self acceptance comes from a release of self judgment and the ability to certify and validate ourselves and admit that you are worthy of self accepting self compassion by removing guilt and shame and offering forgiveness.
To heal, you must bring understanding and awareness to your self rejecting thoughts and provide a self absolving of past thoughts, actions and behaviors. It's removing blame that we aren't pretty or smart or good enough because others told us so and believing it to be true. Your ability to accept yourself can happen today because it's irrelevant to your faults, insecurities and imperfections because we all have them. It's what makes us human. Becoming internally better and changing our thoughts and actions in our behaviors is a personal preference, not required for self acceptance and self love.
