How to Eat Healthy During Quarantine
I know it's hard not to become tested by all the snacks, pizza, ice cream, chips, cookies in out home especially when it's easy right now because we might be tempted to very easily.
Right now is the perfect time to test your discipline, build healthy habits and stick to your goals. Start training your mind to eat healthy foods and say no to temptation. so here's a few tip I have to staying on track.
1. Plan out your meals.
Especially when snacking is so easy to linger into our day. Be sure to meal plan and prep your meals accordingly to your food program. A snack like an apple or a handful of nuts is a great idea but just watch your portion size.
2. Portion Control.
By planning your meals, try to weigh them also. You don't necessarily need a food scale but by judging wether it's a carb (palm size) fat (thumb size) or protein (fist size) you should be able to correctly measure how much of each you need.
3. Sugar.
There is sugar and sugar alcohol is almost everything so be sure to be careful not to eat or drink too many sugary drinks (fruit juice, soda, diet soda). Some of my favorite beverages to drink are water, tea, iced tea and flavoring water with my favorite fruits.
4. Plan Your Cheats.
If you are going to have a treat, be sure to plan out when you decide on enjoying them instead of letting temptation lead you off track. We all deserve something we enjoy but moderation is best.
5. Make a list of things to do when bored.
Especially when boredom hits, it's very important to have a list of things around the house that you can enjoy. Things like going for a walk, reading a good book, learning a new skill, organizing the house, getting rid of unnecessary items, planting a garden, painting, taking a bath ect.
Stay safe and stay healthy my friends. Hope this gives you a couple ideas to eat healthy and stay on track during this time.
