5 Biggest Weight Loss Mistakes
1. Cutting calories!! Don’t cut your calories but working out more and eating more real and raw foods if the secret. If you want to lose weight it depends on energy you work off AND what calories from what food is allowing to repair, restore and revitalize your body after that workout. When you cut food your body will go into “survival mode” and hold onto everything hence your metabolism and weight won’t change!
70% of lean muscle mass is lost when you cut calories. Muscle is your best friend. Nutrients deficiency results in consistent overeating for most people.
The increase of cortisol is higher and triggering your body to store more fat and slows your metabolism when you cut calories.
2. Being seduced by cardio. Long durations of cardio people think this is the way to lose weight the fastest. Most people don’t understand that the more cardio you do the more stress you’re building up cortisol in the body that won’t allow the body to balance...does that make sense? You MUST balance your hormones, thyroid levels, sleep, nutrition and health even before you start breaking down the body in working out.
3. Women fear that lifting weights will make you look “too buff”. A lot of women are fearful that by lifting weights that they’ll they’ll get too big. That is ridiculous because your strength makes your bones grow!! Being independent to be strong and reliable for yourself is why weights are there for you. There is NO WAY you could get “too big” unless you’re using steroids. So ladies, try a muscle strengthening circuit workout with a friend, join a Bootcamp or hire a trainer and stop allowing your mental roadblocks to stop you achieving your goals to fruition. It’s willpower to push past your fears, that’s it.
4. Unable to relate a shift to food and exercise. You must change the view that you are right now and move onward to something bigger and better. Most people cannot see themselves in a different form by overstressing themselves out too much too fast. BUT with minute little changes, we all connect and elevate ourselves around our environment and in order to restructure a new you, you must be ready to re-shift your identity to create the mindset to understand that the new healthy way of life is going to change your character and that’s a mental shift. The body follows what the mind believes.
5. Expecting too much too soon. Where are you are in your situation can change overnight but for some instances there are very much things we don’t see change even though they are. What is your legacy? What does your program look like? When you want instant gratification we’ll...slowing down and recreating good behaviors to shift our mental state can take time. That doesn’t happen overnight. Now to the next second you do t get back and I feel a lot of people can’t allow time to pass without feeling instant gratification when in reality it’s gratification in the long run.
