3 Things I Stop Doing to Lose Weight

First thing we can do is acknowledge that our bodies are perfect just the way they are and the only thing that matters is that you are healthy, taking care of your body and exercising.  The physique is just a bonus.

Ok, enough with my TedTalks now let’s get into it.

I never really started seeing the progress and lapsing the extra fat until my Nutrition was fixed.  So that leads me to my first one.

  1. STOP LOWERING YOUR CALORIES!  Now I’m not gonna lie this did scare me at first.  I always thought the lower the calories the more you’ll lose weight.  Which isn’t necessarily true.  There are a lot more factors that go into it and one being metabolism.  My metabolism wasn’t right because I kept lowering my calories for so long that I had plateau’d and my metabolism adapted to this change and in return I was stuck.  Increasing my calories allowed me to fix my metabolism and therefore speed up the rate at which I burn calories at rest....
  2. I STARTED MEASURING MY BODY PARTS EVERY WEEK.  Instead of just weighing myself I needed a more realistic approach to gaining or losing size in specific areas and not just overall.   Taking progress photos, getting a dexascan for my fat % and muscle mass, these things helped me and made me want to throw my scale away which was hindering me.
  3. I STOPPED RESTRICTING MYSELF!  Restricting myself has harsher consequences in the long run.  The more you restrict yourself of eating the healthy and nutritious food you love it will only harbor inside of you and create a bitter and angry person that will rebel eventually.  Give yourself what you desire.  Weight loss is different for everyone and it takes time!  Don’t worry if your aren’t seeing results, be consistent and remember  your health is what matters.

The future belongs to those who believe in the magic of their dreams
