Glam Sophisticated Private Makeup Lesson with Nikolina Beauty Part 1




I recently won a make up workshop from Nikolina Beauty the owner of GLAM sophisticated. I have always wanted to learn and improve my make up abilities.

First thing I realized.  Is that I don’t take very good care of my skin.  I don’t ever prep my skin before I apply my makeup and I have absolutely no morning or evening facial regimen.  These products are a Cleanser, Serum, Moisturizer, Eye Cream and Primer.

Facial exfoliating with a daily massage helps the exfoliating process and micro-needling the face and neck helps to create more collagen in the skin as well.  

Did you know that we build new skin cells every 28-35 days?  

So, unless we get rid of old dead skin cells on our bodies, they just keep building dirt in our pores and create blackheads, whiteheads and acne.  PLUS, the older we get the slower our skin cells and collagen replicate so it’s important to add extra products from a face care regime that can protect the thin layers of skin on your eyelids, nose, cheeks and forehead.  

Using a moisturizer and primer before applying makeup allows the makeup to not create a “cakey” look and can last longer.  Using an eye cream and serum is what allows the skin around your eyes to stay smooth looking and not to see the fine lines when applying your makeup also.

Do not use skincare with alcohol or Arsol for these are very harsh chemicals on the skin.  Most skincare products have a small picture of a jar on the back of their products with a number in the middle to keep you informed about when the expiration date is.  

Important to be sure to wash your facial towels, body towels, pillowcases and makeup brushes regularly.  When drying your makeup brushes, have them hang over the bathroom counter to dry so they don’t build up germs by lying on a towel during the drying process.


My skin already has age spots, early signs of rosacea and wrinkles.  I’m not worried about again but I do need to take this more seriously.  Especially since being a Bodybuilder and workout out strenuously can do some quick aging to your skin if you don’t hydrate enough.

I know I drink WAY too much coffee and not enough water AND I don’t wear SPF Sunblock like I should.  So that’s another thing I’m putting back into my daily routine so I can be more responsible and take better care of myself.
