Driving to Blue Diamond πŸ’Ž Nevada

My favorite tiny gem to go and relax

This tiny town originated in 1920 and it was an underground mining town.

Blue diamond Village, near the base of the spring mountain range, was originally known as Cottonwood Springs.

It was a major stopping point on the old Spanish Trail, also known as the Mormon trail, in the 1800s supplying plentiful spring water to the rich landscape, travelers and the animals.

Prior to that, the southern point made use of this area for farming. The nearby gypsum claim was purchased in 1924 by the blue diamond corporation of California.

In 1941 the town began to build a company logo for it’s increasing workforce in Cottonwood Springs, which there after known as Blue Diamond.

There was a library, church, mechanic shop, gas station, pool hall, commissary office, school, and the village was in design in the way of the state of Nevada.

Is one Gene and I’s favorite places to go and relax.
