Why Resting is Just as Important as Working Out
Why Rest and Training are Equally Important
Counterintuitive our muscles do get pumped up providing blood to the vessels necessary hence the stress and tearing and overloading happens but it’s just as equally important taking rest days.
Overcompensating can happen to muscles if rest of up to 48 hours hasn’t occurred. Targeting a muscle group once a week is normal but more sleep up to is vital to fully recuperate.
Overtraining can cause muscle atrophy, elevated heart rate, irritability, poor strength development, bad digestion, extreme inflammation, persistent muscle soreness, overly fatigued even after rest and reduced cardiovascular performance.
Out innate human ability wanting to see instant results is common and that can be addicting. The hormones that make you feel good in dopamine can also become addicting and also we get the notion that “more is better” and a lot of mental detrimental effects will take place if overtraining (especially if body dysmorphia or eating addictions are there) has taken place.
Rest, relax and enjoy sleep. It does make a body good.
