Receiving Support from Your Spouse as your Pursue your Fitness Goals
Receiving support from your significant other as your pursue your Fitness Goals
When discussing my competition schedule with Gene, it was prevalent to me that there’s two things to take into consideration before scheduling your next competition.
How’s your significant other doing in their life? Do they have the live and support to give you? Are they dealing with certain situations that you may need to be there for them? If so, competing needs to be given a second thought.
There’s of course other things like health, financial, timing with life’s responsibilities you may need to pay more detail to getting life in order before sacrificing time for your next show.
Your significant other, kids, pets, friends and family all depend on you and by taking on the serious hard work that is required for a Bodybuilding Show, well then you MUST have a serious talk with your better half and make sure you get their feelings behind this topic before you commit.
Fitness Goals like Body Transformations can also bring a little havoc in the family life due to intense meal programs and strict diets.
Events like eating out at restaurants, celebrating birthday cake, or cutting into a holiday pie or baking goodies to passing more gravy and mashed potatoes please are all considerations that do come in the way when it comes to nurturing and grow the wholesome “food” relationships that you share with others you love.
Sticking to your goals may seem selfish to those that don’t have the discipline or desire to change themselves so keep in mind the serious mental clarity you must keep within yourself and sometimes sharing a milkshake on a date with your loved one is ways we show love to one another.
Food is such a great way for us to connect, build relationships and “break bread” but instinctively if your going through something in life where sacrifice is is gear well, do you see where there lies havoc?
Your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend they will see changes in you but changes in themselves that they may have to face also which they might not be happy with. In any relationship it happens where you both need to be prepared for good healthy changes. Communicate it thoroughly about the serious goals and the effects you have for yourself and how important your results and goals are. Include them to join in but keep in mind that this is just for YOU. Maybe just spending that little time with yourself will give you an outlet to miss, grow and love your significant other even more.
And unfortunately, if you’re with someone who makes you feel like crap, sick and disgusted with yourself for their benefit. Well, your doing this to yourself. Don’t be a bird locked in a cage. Break free from any dysfunctional relationships and bring more freedom to your world.
