Necessary to Cut Water and Sodium Before a Competition?
Necessary to Cut Water and Sodium Intake Before a Show? Yes or No?
I get a lot of questions curious as to why this process of cutting sodium, salt and carbs right before the show.
In order to keep glycogen in the muscle cells it’s like a balloon and without water and this can’t happen. Muscles expand with carbohydrates and the byproduct of makes more blood pump in the muscle which is why sodium causes blood volume hence “pump” you up.
So with water and salt and carbs all working together to make the muscles look fuller is quite a achievement but sometimes is it necessary to lay the muscles flat?
By laying low, resting and cutting water, sodium and carbs your metabolism will also lay low so your calorie intake isn’t needed to be increased because of hard training which is also not happening (which is kinda like a vacation) but yet it is a calorie deficit and is very difficult to hold and maintain a focused mindset.
People have plenty of carbs in them so mini cuts for me work miraculously right before a show. My metabolism is a intense massive and quick burning machine and if I don’t keep re-feeding myself I’ll loose weight wether I like or not. Also take a look at your body type and thyroid type. Why? Well since my body is a Ectomorph /Mesomorph combination my body fat % can drop super low and still build muscle mass quite fast while still recovering at a high rate so it’s quite a manipulative process for me and I bet for every single person to figure out.
