Getting Over Stage Fright
Getting over Stage Fright
One way or another, being judged by others can be quite terrifying especially when your on a stage with hundreds of others judging you also.
Many people (including myself) have been bent up with stage fright weeks or even months in advance. Just imagining over and over again by being judged by the way you look (and 1/2 naked by the way) can be quite horrific.
So how do I conquer my “Stage Fright?” I take is as a challenge and focus on the positive benefits of what I’m already gaining by overcoming this obstacle and focusing on the completion successfully. I sorta look at it as fearfulness and excitement are the same thing. Just depends on how you look at it.
For many, being a presenter and speaking in public or performing a task in front of a crowd is what drives some to perform at their best and I admire these people. But for many, this is a persons worst fear.
So for me, I love to calm down my mind and slow my thinking with some yoga, meditation and positive affirmations. Being easy on the mind first can settle the body for a more balanced approach to be in motion. Relax, breathe and create feel a sense of feeling accomplishment that you’re come this far to face your demons. Those demons will become smaller and eventually fade the more you approach them head on.
So the next time you have a big event that you feel a sense of Stage Fright coming on and you feel panicky, hold tight. The feeling will pass and if you are thinking of ways to be more prepared, the best advice I can give is just make sure you’re well prepared in advance so you have enough time to relax and settle your mind before the big event occurs.
