What is Sweat Equity?


A party contributes to a project rather that financial equity is where you pay someone to get the work done.  DIY, putting in your own effort and the value adding by unpaid work results and more labor added to projects is valued as sweat equity or deferred wages.

1937 is when this term was associated used by the AFAC to help families who couldn’t afford a home 🏡 make that possible.

Now, I know sweat equity is “Business Lingo” but I want to get creative with this term and define it differently.

So how is sweat equity in your life regarded in your home?  Have your fixed your home yourself or pay someone?  Business?  Do you own your own business or help someone else’s business?  Relationships?  What efforts are you regularly prioritizing with genuine love.  And Personal Life?  What areas are you working without looking for instant results and just keep pushing?  Sweat it out and see your value in all areas of your life.
