My 2nd NPC Bikini Competition Coming Soon
Right after the first competition, I was ready to sign up for my next one. The feeling of how much I grew mentally as well as physically just got me thinking..."I need to keep going and find out more about myself". So without hesitation I signed up for my next competition in Las Vegas called the NPC Sampson Showdown held at the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre at the Southern Nevada Cheyenne Campus and I am already really excited to get back into things.
You see, this last show (which was my first show) I was just getting my feet wet learning the ropes. Getting to know all about meal prep and peak week and how to sign up, registration day and getting all the little details in order from tanning, makeup, hair, bikini, jewelry and even packing your bags for the day before the competition.
Here are a few things that I learned that I'll be taking into consideration for my next competition.
1. Pack more food than you think you'll need...trust me you'll need it
2. Be sure to get pictures of you with your friends and family
3. Write Thank you cards to everyone who came and supported you after your competition! Make a list while you're there to keep track of everyone.
4. Take a neck pillow and a blanket with you
5. Take extra money to purchase products...Vendors give major discounts to competitors
6. Bring your Zed Card and Brand Ambassadorship Package with you to give to companies
who may be interested in sponsoring you.
7. Bring your own Swag and do a giveaway to fans at the competition who come to show their support.
8. Stay in touch with girls that you compete with and follow each other on IG, you'll never know when you may compete with them again.
9. Have Thank You Cards for the judges and my coach and teammates
10. Make food ready at home to eat for the next few days as a Post Meal Recovery Plan...Do NOT start eating out at restaurants immediately after competing!
My mom came to visit me for a week after my competition which was so nice to spend quality time with her but unfortunately my digestive track and stomach were getting back into a "normal eating" routine which I had no idea that means stomach cramps, lots of going to the bathroom and the biggest mistake was that I ate out everyday (even twice sometimes) while she was visiting and that almost made me sick.
How can you not eat everything in front of your face after you've been deprived for weeks? Knowing you'll have a terrible stomach ache is how and I learned that the hard way. But no worries, a few days rest and doubling on my enzymes and probiotics I'm back to new!
Well, Anyways. I'm so excited to get back into the swing of things and enjoy this next competiton. And to being more prepared than the last one by knowing myself a little more and what I am capable of doing. Also, this last show was dedicated to my sister Christine in her memory but this next one is dedicated to me. Allowing myself to give it all for myself (which I've never done) and knowing that my value and worth in this will be based on my internal reflection on the world. I know there will be a lot of demons to face but I'm ready to conquer them and go at it with a fight so, let do this!
