HUGE WORKOUT ADVICE!!

Image
I have been found guilty of what I am about to talk about I definitely recommend anyone reading this to really pay attention if you yourself have been found guilty of the same. When you work out you typically, you feel better when you finish your workout than before you started.  Your blood is pumping and your heart is going and all the good hormones are flushing through your system. But as I notice after a workout, sometimes I can feel a little tense and sluggish.  Wondering what I did differently?   It was my thoughts and energy that I was giving off or accepting from others at the gym.  if you or someone is in a bad mode the last thing you want to do is run it off on someone else or visa versa. So lemme explain,  Typically conversations can go two directions when talking to someone while your working out.  Good, light and easy subjects.  Or hard core, in depth and edgy topics that may bring your workout easier or make your workout more di...

Being addicted to Sugar in REAL!

My entire life I have been addicted to sugar. Started as a child and I developed the nickname "TV Sugar Davis" and not too long had nearly 10 cavities and fillings by the time I was a teenager.  My parents let me eat whatever and whenever I wanted and I was never taught anything about health and nutrition so their were no limits in my world.  Ice Cream, sugary cereals, cookies you name it. Having boundaries at an early age would have been easier for me to learn about the dangers of sugar and being aware of my body but my parents were always thin and in shape so I never was around obesity and naturally I didn't see any problems.  I had no idea what it was like being fat or being insecure until at around age 12, I developed a self image or complex about my weight when it started Middle School. Never was I a chubby kid but my sister was 4 inches taller and a lot more slender than I was so she naturally got a lot of attention from boys and I was considered the Tomboy. ...

My 2nd NPC Bikini Competition Coming Soon

Image
Right after the first competition, I was ready to sign up for my next one.  The feeling of how much I grew mentally as well as physically just got me thinking..."I need to keep going and find out more about myself".  So without hesitation I signed up for my next competition in Las Vegas called the NPC Sampson Showdown held at the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre at the Southern Nevada Cheyenne Campus and I am already really excited to get back into things. You see, this last show (which was my first show) I was just getting my feet wet learning the ropes.  Getting to know all about meal prep and peak week and how to sign up, registration day and getting all the little details in order from tanning, makeup, hair, bikini, jewelry and even packing your bags for the day before the competition. Here are a few things that I learned that I'll be taking into consideration for my next competition. 1.  Pack more food than you think you'll need...trust me you'll need it ...

My 1st NPC Bikini Fitness Competition Experience

Image
Steven Karr Las Vegas Classics Body Building Competition November 4th at the Cashman Center My very first Bikini Fitness Competition was definitely a life changing experience for sure!  I placed 3rd place in Novice Bikini and 3rd place in Open Class Bikini and the best part about it was that I had my whole Platinum Physiques Team around me. First off, I thought being active and staying dedicated was a strong part of my life but this was a whole different playing field going through this life changing experience. I had been on my last week of meal prep and I steadily crept into "Peak Week" where my brain was going completely blank at times and my energy would go down and crash by noon.  First in Peak Week, you must cut out sugar, salt and seasonings of any kind completley.  then, you have to cut out Protein Shakes and then the last 2 days is cutting your water significantly.  On top of putting in 45 minutes of cardio a day and weight training 3 ...
